About Me

I’m a future English teacher, sorority girl, and reading addict. I live to read, write about what I’ve read (either academically or socially), and collect books.

I started my blog because I am an extrovert who loves to read and, as a result, has to tell as many people as possible about what I’m reading and what I’ve read. I promise to always be honest in my reviews, whether I want to burn a book or gush about how obsessed I am with it.

I stalk libraries, bookstores, and book sales, sometimes just to look at the books and smell them. I love seeing other people with books in their hands and talking to them about reading.

I love studying trends in literature. I stay up to date on new releases, but I also love to read The Classics. I’ll read anything from sonnets to graphic novels. When I’m reading on my own, I tend to pick up YA literature.

Outside of the book world, I enjoy yoga, dancing, painting, spicy food, horror movies, and trivia games.

Fun Facts:

I work in a planetarium. I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 5. I live above a coffeehouse. My birthday is the same number as my area code. I can say the alphabet backwards.

  1. Hello shelfmadegirl! You have a lovely blog, I’m enjoying having a peek around.

I always think it’s good to have a balance between current literature and classics. I know some people devote their lives to reading classics alone, and while that’s a great achievement I feel like it is good to have variety too as it gives you a better overall picture.

Good luck with the teaching. Just think, you could be inspiring the readers of the future! 😀
